Personalized Nutrition and Wellness Consultations

Learn not only what to eat but also when and how to eat for your particular goals. You will receive cooking ideas for everyday meals using wholesome foods, recipes and menu ideas, dining out and travel information and recommended nutritional supplements. Gerri will create an exercise plan that fits your lifestyle and keep you motivated. Let’s discuss techniques for increasing your awareness, mindfulness and stress management.

Before you begin
At your initial consultation with Gerri you will be asked to keep and bring a food and exercise diary to this 60-90 minutes appointment. We will review your current way of eating, exercise, medical history, lifestyle and food preferences.  Recommendations will be discussed and specific goals will be made along with a plan of action.

Follow up
Follow up appointments will be schedule at your convenience and to fit your lifestyle: you and Gerri can meet by phone, video call, email, text, or touch base by phone. Also, Walk and Talk sessions also are an option in around beautiful Santa Barbara or your neighborhood.

Cost and Insurance
An initial consultation and 30 minute follow up is essential with preferred recommendation for 6-12 sessions to achieve results.  Cost is $100.00 per hour. Follow up sessions can be in person, by phone, skype or facetime and can be spread every week, every other week or monthly as it makes sense. 
You will be given a receipt that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Your workplace may include Nutrition services in your Flexible Spending Account. Clients with Diabetes on Medicare may select to see Gerri at Sansum clinic which will bill Medicare. Call (805)681-7522 to make an appointment.

Food Shopping Tours
Shop with Gerri at your preferred store to learn how to read labels and select foods that will achieve your specific goals. You will make sensible food choices based on your lifestyle and time restraints, food and cooking experience and budget that will maximize your nutritional needs.  You will learn about recipe and seasoning ideas, how to put foods together, and meal planning.

Healthy Kitchen Makeover
In-home inventory of your kitchen, evaluation of food items, equipment, cooking skills and recipes, with recommendations for gradual healthy change or a radical Jump Start.

Cooking Classes
Focus on Taste Health and the Environment. Hands-on experience in food selection and preparation, and ways to modify recipes, seasoning ideas and menu planning. Emphasis on wholesome LOVE food (Local Organic Vibrant and environmentally friendly).  These classes are offered to individuals, couples, or small groups at your home or mine, Adult Education cooking classroom, Restaurants or other kitchens.  Food demonstrations for larger groups are also available.  Upcoming classes

You will be given a list of vitamins and minerals recommended for you personally based on your current diet, medical history and goals.  Gerri can provide guidance for specific brands.

Culinary Farm Tours and Tasting
Join the Santa Barbara Food and Farm Adventures Meetup for announcement of ongoing farm tours. Meet like-minded people interested in learning more about local food production. We car pool or meet at a farm where the farmer gives us a tour and answers our questions; occasional pick your own food and tastings. Next tour
